Abstract:

In this paper, photonic generation of continuous terahertz (THz) waves is demonstrated using our internal designed antenna-integrated modified uni-travelling-carrier photodiodes (MUTC-PD) and distributed feedback (DFB) laser array chip. Optical heterodyned signals from 0.027 THz to 0.5 THz is directly measured by golay cell, proving high quality of two chips. We believe with further optimizations, our antenna-integrated MUTC-PD chips and DFB laser can be integrated into a high integration and cost-efficiency THz emitter.
