Abstract：Multi-scale modelling has been considered to be key to guiding cost-effective development materials with "designer" property requirements. The presentation will cover the strategy for materials design by the combination of top-down and bottom-up approaches, with examples covering fundamental modelling, the interplay between materials energetics and kinetics on phase evolution, alloy/materials design, materials processing and characterization.
