Scientists in the field of Semiconductor Spintronics and Magnetic Materials had been invited to the Key Laboratory of Semiconductor Materials Science on May 22th, 2013, and a Chinese-French Seminar on “Spintronics in Semiconductors” was held in the academic salon. Most of the reporters came from the participant organizations of the China-France international cooperation program “Electrical control of spin injection in spin-LEDs via spin-transfer effect without magnetic field”, which is sponsored by National Science Foundation of China (NSFC) andFrench National Research Bureau (ANR).
The reporters includes Prof. Xavier Marie and Prof. Pierre Renucci of the Laboratory of Nanophysics and Chemistry, National Institute of Applied Sciences in Toulouse, France, Prof. Jean-Marie George and Prof. Henri Jaffrès of the Joint Laboratory of Physics of CNRS and THALES, Dr. Yuan Lu of the Laboratory of Spintronics and Nanomagnetism, Institute of Jean-Lamour, France, Prof. Xiufeng Han and Associate Prof. Jiafeng Feng of the State Key laboratory of Magnetism, Institute of Physics, CAS and Dr. Laipan Zhu of the Key Laboratory of Semiconductor Materials Science, Institute of Semiconductors, CAS. Prof. Jianhua Zhao of the State Key Laboratory of Superlattices and Microstructures, CAS was specially invited. Many related researchers and postgraduate students have also participated in the seminar. The reporters talked about the works of spin injection and manipulation in semiconductor materials, the preparation of semiconductor spintronic materials and magnetic tunnel junctions, and some hot topics were also discussed in detail. After the Seminar, the French scientists visited the labs of the Key Laboratory of Semiconductor Materials Science and the State Key laboratory of Superlattices and Microstructures, and exchanged ideas with the researchers of the labs. The Seminar will play a positive role in the collaboration in the field of Semiconductor Spintronics and Magnetic Materials between the related Chinese and French laboratories.
