The first Japan-China-India Joint Workshop on GaN-based Materials and Devices was held at Nagoya, on September 19, 2008. Professor Li Jinmin, director of the Institute of Semiconductors, CAS, presented a report titled "China's solid-state lighting research and development,", and professor Wang Xiaoliang,Professor Wang Junxi also gave wonderful reports.

　  The Second Workshop will be held in Beijing in 2009.
