On October 22, 2009, the News Network of the Florida State University and the UPI Asia.com Network respectively reported that the collaborative research project between Professor Stephan von Molnar, Professor Peng Xiong, from the Department of Physics, Florida State University, and Professor Zhao Jianhua, Academician Zheng Houzhi, from the State Key Laboratory of Superlattices, Institute of Semiconductors, CAS, received the funding from the U.S. NSF's Materials World Network. This collaborative project between the scientists from U.S. and China is the first project that funded by the U.S. NSF's Materials World Network.
Correspondingly, the major international cooperative project with a title “Magnetic Properties and the Spin-Based Electrical Properties of Semiconductor/Ferromagnet Hetero-Nanocrystal” also received the funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
